Emma (Music Therapist) worked with a 3 year old boy for a block of six sessions and was assessing his communication and attention skills, his ability to fantasy play and his cognitive skills. After writing a detailed report, the boy's mother used the report to have her son assessed for Autistic Spectrum Disorder and he was diagnosed soon after. By the end of the therapy sessions, this boy was able to sustain his attention for longer periods of time and was also interacting with the therapist more frequently.

This has developed his communicative use of voice.
Emma works with a 14 year old boy who was finding it difficult to express his emotions in a healthy way. He uses his music therapy sessions as a creative outlet to express his emotions through song writing and has called the experience 'cathartic'.
